Director of the Estonian IT Centre, Ergo Tars, introduced the reasons behind the creation of the Estonian IT Center, the portfolio of services and the organization of work. Additionally the current situation and future of the computer workstation services and the Government Cloud were discussed.
Head of the legal and procurement department, Mirjam Virosiim-Kuhi, introduced the topic of centralised public procurement in the field of IT more thoroughly - the guests wondered how we avoid corruption, how procurement is technically solved and how the use of public procurement registers and e-catalogues in Estonia can help in automating procurement procedures.
The establishment of bilateral relations ended with a round table discussion, where the situation in Moldova and Namibia was discussed in more detail, along with what to take from Estonia's experience.
The visit took place on 26-27 of April 2023. The delegation included experts from the e-Governance Agency of Moldova, the Public Acquisition Agency of Moldova, the Ministry of Finance of Moldova, and the Office of the Prime Minister of Namibia. The visit was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the TAIEX unit of the Commission, and the Estonian Center for International Development Cooperation (EstDev).
